Brick Bay

Brick Bay is an exposed brick wall at 1250 Library St. in downtown Detroit, in the Remick, built 1907. It comes as is: the wall, the floor and the room. Bring your own setup or add ours.

$120 an hour. Four hour minimum. 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Bookings take a 50% deposit to hold the date. Members book it for less: 10 percent off on Crew, 20 percent on Director, 30 percent on Executive Producer.

Add light from the cage: the Strobe Kit ($375 a day) or the Continuous Light Kit ($275 a day), booked with the bay. Rental gear stays in the building.

Good for: portraits and headshots with texture, interviews and talking heads, podcasts you light and mic yourself, music and fashion, brand content that wants Detroit in the frame.

Getting in: the passenger elevator off Library St. fits a production cart or two. See Visit for parking and load-in.
