Rental gear stays in the studio. It comes out of the cage when your booking starts and staff check it back in before it ends. Nothing goes home overnight.

Paid tiers take their discount on gear drawn for their own projects. Premium cinema packages need a deposit and a certificate of insurance.

Price the day
Pick a single bay or the whole floor, the hours and any gear, and see the total before you sign up for anything. Four-hour minimum.

Join Basic, free
Everyone who shoots here is a member, so the agreement, the waiver and, for a business shoot, your certificate of insurance are on file before a crew walks on. You sign once, online, and never again. No application, nothing to pay.

Send the request
We hold the slot for 48 hours while we check the floor and the cage, and answer most requests inside a day. The first day on the calendar is November 1, 2026.

Shoot
Gear comes out of the cage when your booking starts and goes back in before it ends. Nothing leaves the building, and the floor is yours for the hours you booked.

Membership
Everyone who shoots here is a member, because the agreement, waiver and insurance have to be on file before a crew walks on. Basic does that once, online, for free, and then you book. Paid tiers add stage discounts, an earlier booking window and a hot desk on days the floor is free. They are by application and capped: 6 Crew, 3 Director, 1 Executive Producer. The first members approved keep their rate.
The discount is the ladder: 10, 20, 30 percent off every stage hour you book

Questions
Do I have to be a member to book the stage?
Yes, but it's free. Basic membership is required to use the studio in any capacity, and it comes with any rental at no cost: sign the agreement and waiver once, digitally, and book at standard rates. Paid tiers add stage discounts, an earlier booking window and a hot desk on days the floor is free.
How does the membership application work?
Apply online. It's short, and it's mostly about your work. We review applications weekly and reply personally; if there's a fit, you'll get an invite to come see the space. Slots per tier are limited, so approved applications go in order received.
How much do members save on stage rentals?
Crew saves 10 percent, Director 20, Executive Producer 30. Discounts apply to the member's own projects only. You can't book discounted time on behalf of a third party.
How far ahead can I book?
By tier: Executive Producer books 30 days out, Director 21, Crew 14, and Basic or public 7.
Can I cancel?
To cancel, give 30 days' notice before your next billing date, from your portal or in writing. Your membership runs to the end of the last period you paid for. There is no cancellation fee. Tier changes take effect the next cycle. Membership is monthly; there are no annual terms.
What gear is in the cage?
An owned, working house package: cameras, lenses, lighting, grip and audio. The full list, with day rates, is under Gear on this page. Rental gear is used in the studio only and is booked by availability with your stage time.
What about insurance for premium gear?
Cinema packages require a deposit and a certificate of insurance, and rent cash-only. Standard house kit needs neither.
What are the hours?
6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily for every tier but Executive Producer. Executive Producers hold keys and come and go 24/7. Stage bookings run a four-hour minimum.
Parking and load-in?
Street and garage parking within a block. Most shoots load in on the passenger elevator off the Library St. entrance, which takes a cart or two; the freight elevator is available on request, so ask when you book.
Can I bring clients?
Yes, that's the point. The floor is client-presentable. Guest passes come with Director: three a month. Guests sign the digital waiver on arrival.
When is the first day I can book?
November 1, 2026. Requests for that day and after can be sent now.
Can I work from the studio?
Lightly. Crew members and up can book one of four hot desks, free, a day at a time, on days the floor is not taken over. A whole-space booking gets the desks for its own crew. A desk needs no certificate of insurance; that comes in when you book a stage. The Executive Producer has a desk of their own. The studio is for shoots first.
